~October is National Apple Month~

ABC Teach-this is a membership site; however, there are many great FREE things too!  Free Materials include a printable apple graph,  poem, shape book, survey and coloring page. An Apple A Day- a lesson geared for lower elementary aged students from AtoZteacherstuff.
An Apple A Day- an internet project that focuses on apples. This project features a wide variety of  poetry written by real kids about apples. An Internet Quest for Knowledge- this apple internet activity is awesome! Take a look and become motivated to create your own apple quest!

was born on September 26, 1774

Some Apple Activities  I have done with my own children...

Apple Tree Counting Book-
My children used tiny apple stickers to put the correct number of apples each tree.
The lines can be used to practice writing numbers, sentences or words. 

You can easily change the numbers to meet your child's needs.  Enjoy!

~Microwave Apple Butter~
4 cooking apples, cored, & quartered
1/2 cup apple cider
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. cloves

~Combine apples and cider in a 2-qt. glass bowl.

 ~Cover and microwave on high 6 minutes or until apples are soft, stirring twice during cooking.

~Place apples in blender and process until smooth. Return apple mixture to glass bowl.

~Stir in sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

~Microwave uncovered on high 10 minutes, or until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Can refrigerate up to 2 weeks.

Makes 2 cups


~Apple Smiles~
Smooth Peanut Butter
(make sure no one is allergic to peanuts!)
Mini- Marshmallows

~Core apples.

~Spread peanut butter on one side of
apple slice.

~Place 4-5 mini-marshmallows on top
of the peanut butter.

~Spread peanut butter on another apple slice.

~Place this second apple slice on
top of the first to create an apple smile.
